  • Students must purchase and bring all teaching materials required for their lessons.

  • Exam fees are not included in tuition fees.

2. Attendance, Lateness & Missed Lessons

  • If a student arrives late, the lost time will not be added on or rescheduled.

  • Lesson fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

  • No refunds will be given for missed lessons, for any reason, including illness, holidays, school events, or personal circumstances.

  • If a student stops lessons while in credit, remaining fees are not refundable.

  • Payment for a missed (or future missed) lesson cannot be carried forward or used for future lessons.

  • If a student cannot attend the lesson in person, they may have the lesson online instead. No refunds will be given if the student does not want an online lesson.

3. Illness Policy

  • If a student has any contagious illness (e.g., sickness bugs, COVID symptoms, flu), they must not attend in person.

  • An online lesson will be provided instead at the usual time.

  • Coming into the lesson while knowingly contagious is not permitted.

4. Parent/Guardian Attendance

  • For safeguarding purposes, one parent/guardian must attend the lesson and remain present for its duration.

  • Siblings should not attend unless agreed in advance.

5. Home Instrument & Practice (After Trial Period)

  • After the Two Week Trial, students must have:

    • Access to a suitable piano or digital keyboard at home, and

    • A commitment to regular practice.

  • A home instrument is essential for progress and for preparing for exams, performances, and long-term development.

6. Payments & Subscriptions

  • After the Two Week Trial, lesson fees must be paid via:

    • Monthly subscription, or

    • Tax-Free Childcare (TFC).

  • Parents paying via TFC must set up a standing order on the 20th of each month, paying for the following month’s lessons.

  • Monthly fee calculation:
Weekly lesson fee × number of annual lessons ÷ 12 = fixed monthly fee all year round.

  • Subscriptions and Tax-Free Childcare payments continue until you cancel by giving us 30 days’ written notice (text or WhatsApp accepted). During this time, any fees will be adjusted to ensure you only pay for lessons received.

Our fees are spread evenly across the year in monthly instalments, even though lessons only take place during term time. Because of this, if lessons stop part way through the year, the amount you have paid at that point may not exactly match the number of lessons you have received.

    • If you have received more lessons than you have paid for, a balancing payment will be required.

    • If you have paid for more lessons than you have received, a refund will be made.

By the end of a full fee year, everything balances so that you will always have paid for the exact number of lessons you have received.

7. Number of Lessons Per Year

  • Monday & Friday students receive 38 lessons per year.

  • Tuesday & Thursday students receive 39 lessons per year.

8. Time-Slot Reservation

  • A pupil’s time-slot is only secured once payment has been received.

  • If fees are unpaid, the slot may be released and offered to other students.

9. Teacher Illness/Cancellation

  • In unforeseen circumstances, David and Rachel may cover each other’s lessons.

  • In the rare event that David or Rachel cancels a lesson and it cannot be rearranged, the lesson will be refunded.

We reserve the right to amend or cancel these terms and conditions without prior notice. However, the most current terms and conditions will always appear on this webpage.

In joining our classes, parents/guardians accept our Terms of Service outlined above.
